A Diagnostic Dilemma
Chronic fatigue syndrome has non-specific symptoms with a large variation between patients. These patients have severe fatigue for longer than 6 months. . Lyme disease and chronic fatigue have similar symptoms. All other possibilities must be ruled out before CHRONIC FATIGUE SYNDROME diagnosis is made.
Other Symptoms associated with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome
- Chills and night sweats
- Allergies or sensitivities to various foods or chemicals
- Irritable bowel syndrome
- Bloating
- Nausea
- Visual disturbances or eye pain
- Chest pain
- And problems such as depression, irritability, anxiety and panic attacks
Possible causes
- Infections by viruses or bacteria
- Abnormal response to physical or psychological stressors by the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis
- Abnormal immune responses or other immune dysfunction
- Excessive oxidative stress
- Psychological and emotional issues
The Link to Infection
- Epstein Barr
- Coxsakie virus
- Cytomegalo virus
- New – Retrovirus, known as XMRV
The hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis
In all ofthe cases of CHRONIC FATIGUE SYNDROME that I have treated, patients have always come with a history of months of severe psychological or physical stress
Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome
- Fibromyalgia: muscular pain and tenderness are experienced in the absence of any known medical cause
- Pain and fatigue frequently occur together, and the syndromes of fibromyalgia and CHRONIC FATIGUE SYNDROME overlap
- Two variations of the same disease
Prognosis statistically
- Complete recovery 5%
- Improvement without full recovery – 40%
- No success 5-20%
- If all systems are treated with natural medicine: I have had a 95% success rate to date
All systems that are affected by the disease should be treated with natural medicine:
- Immune system
- Hormonal system
- Digestive system
- Emotional system
Multidisciplinary approach is always the best
- Medicine: homeopathic, herbal, probiotics & nutraceutical
- Medac , Bemer carpets & Rife treatment
- Diet – blood group and / or IGG food intolerance test
- Energy diary to be completed daily to see progress
- Muscular rehabilitation – aquarobics
- Psychologists & Therapists
